OSTERIA CHIARA presents a unique evening of
Rosso, Bianco and Blues- a 4-course dinner, artisanal Italian wines and
The Raphael Gualazzi Band in Concert
Saturday, April 25th, 7:00pm

The Wilder Center on Route 5 in Wilder, VT   http://www.wildercenter.com

Osteria Chiara is presenting a special evening of Italian food and music called
“Rosso, Bianco and Blues” (that's red wine, white wine, and the BLUES - though the extraordinary Italian Pianist/Singer/Songwriter Raphael Gualazzi's repertoire covers much more than the blues.)

His fusion of influences span the gamut, from jazz to ragtime, classical to reggae and African roots, from Stevie Wonder to Stevie Nicks, and lots in between. Roll that up into one performer, and you never know what's coming next!  I've been reminded of the music of JJ Cale, Abdullah Ibrahim and Miles Davis as he plays on.
Hailing from Urbino, Italy, Raphael is a consummate musician and extraordinary pianist.
As a young boy, Raphael took a fancy to learning New Orleans-type stride piano and spent many years at the conservatory. Raphael is very popular in Europe based on his winning the Italian San Remo singer/songwriter contest in 2010 and then representing Italy in the Eurovision contest in 2011. He was the first Italian invited to the Eurovision contest in 14 years and he placed 2nd!
Raphael’s music is a compelling blend of Funk, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Reggae and more…..Original music steeped in tradition.

Raphael Gualazzi is coming to Vermont in April for the “Happy Mistake Tour”. He will collaborate with Vermont musicians including UVM Professor Steve Ferraris. Mr. Ferraris is also the head cook at Osteria Chiara. Italian Trumpeter Luigi Faggi will join Raphael as well as Vermont drummer Gabe Jarrett and Vermont bassist Robinson Morse.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Raphael Gualazzi live and up close. Soon you will be telling people “I heard him before the rest of the USA knew about him!”

As one Osteria Chiara patron said after listening to Raphael:
So amazing! A real showman; very captivating, classy and playful- not to mention complex musically!... Bravo
